Why Join Camboaters?

Because it's free! But more importantly, because without members there is no community association, and without a community association there is no chance of getting recognition by any body that has power over our lives, such as the City Council, County Council, Cam Conservancy, or Environment Agency.

By working together as a community in 2004, we successfully campaigned and reversed the proposal to ban us from mooring on Midsummer Common. Our subsequent association status ensured that our opinions continued to be heard. We now have real influence in negotiations with the City Council and Cam Conservators, proven through our subsequent involvement in the implementation of a Cambridge City mooring policy.

None of this could have been achieved without strength in numbers. What other reasons do you need?

Who can join?
